Breaking Boundaries at LFA 2019: Is Innovation What You Think?

As part of the Breaking Boundaries series for the London Festival of Architecture (LFA) 2019, architect Paul Vick will join Innovation Warehouse Founder Ami Shpiro on the evening of 19 June to present a series of talks exploring innovation “and what it means for you and your city”. The event will paint an intimate picture of how the invisible structures of the work within the building, and the visible structures of the architecture where the event is held, together continue to break the boundaries of our perceptions and lives. The topic of Ami’s talk will be on the Coworking Business Model – how to gain access to higher yields in commercial property investments, while having a positive impact on the environment. Paul Vick will discuss Paul Vick Architects’ particular approach to creating and enhancing value; what innovation is and how one draws on the many values in a city to de-risk investment in both the short and long term. Where planning permission is typically a definition of viability, Paul Vick also brings their experience of achieving a 100% planning permission record. About Paul Vick Paul Vick Architects won Most Innovative Architecture Firm London 2019 and 2018, Game Changers Awards 2018, Best Architecture Firm in the Global Excellence Awards 2017, and Best Construction Adviser UK 2017. Paul has given a number of talks on Value Enhancement and Inspiration including at the Lecture Club in London, ‘Le Plan’ in Venice Italy (2014), Schroders (Feb 2014), New London Architecture (Jan 2014) where there was capacity audience of 260 people and Strategic Investment Managers Association in The City supported by The London Stock Exchange and Deutsche Bourse (2011), an excerpt of which was published by Magdalene College, Cambridge. Paul Vick is a professional architect (RIBA, ARB) and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts who has lectured on architecture at University College London, MIT and the National Building Museum. His work has also been published in the Architect’s Journal and World Architecture News amongst others. He trained at Cambridge University and Oxford Brookes University with extended periods in Washington DC and Beijing. Paul Vick is a juror for the International Property Awards (UK and Europe) 2016 to 2019.
