Innovation Warehouse is partnering with the Cannabis Investor Forum to help facilitate support for early-stage UK business cannabis companies.
The event will take place on 24 October 2019 at London’s Chiswell Street Brewery, bringing together the UK’s cannabis investment community to showcase and debate the UK’s cannabis industry.
Key topics for the forum include the politics of cannabis, UK & European regulations, the investment environment and UK cannabis entrepreneurship. The event will feature keynote speeches and expert panel discussions while providing the platform for one-on-one dialogue between attendees, exhibitors and speakers. Click here to learn more.
Commenting on the political and regulatory forces shaping the current medicinal cannabis framework, Cannabis Investor Forum founder Jonathan Roy said:
“There is a significant opportunity for innovative UK companies to establish brands and distribution channels throughout the cannabis and CBD supply chain. It’s an exciting period in the cannabis industry as the associated business benefits of gaining first-mover advantage are driving a wave of new entrants to the market.
“This has, of course, not gone unnoticed by investors and we are seeing a race for both entrepreneurs and the investors who support early-stage businesses to deploy capital and gain a foothold in the market.”
The Cannabis Investor Forum was established to provide a competitive edge to investors and is an inclusive conference open to both institutional and private investors, medical and law professionals and entrepreneurs. The event will welcome a wide range of expert guest speakers including:
Prof Mike Barnes – Chair of the Medical Cannabis Clinicians Society
Hannah Deacon – Medical Cannabis campaigner and mother of Alfie
Robert Jappie – Head of Cannabis legal at Mackrell Turner Garrett
Robert Sidebottom – Hemp & CBD Mag
Tabea Schoeler – Post-doctorate Researcher, University College London
Jonathan Roy added: “Just as with any developing industry there will be winners and losers, so we see the Cannabis Investor Forum as an important platform to bring together cannabis stakeholders with long-term ambitions in the industry.
“It is inevitable that some of the players in today’s market will not be here in two to three years’ time, and we see the inability to react to changes in legislation or failure to secure investment as the most likely reasons UK start-up cannabis companies will ultimately fail.
“We are extremely excited to partner with the Innovation Warehouse as one, if not both, of these factors can be mitigated through the tie up of innovative young companies and experienced investors.”
